Modus 3 is small, portable and cost effective, and provides the answer to the need for a "real world" RF signal on the desk of every video software and hardware development engineer.
Key to these systems is CellMetric's Digital Radio architecture and "Application Specific I/Q™" modules which allow efficient customisation of this architecture using plug and play COFDM channel coders.
Designed for broadcasters, silicon, set top box and mobile video handset developers Modus 3 provides DAB, DVB-T and DVB-H RF modulated test signals in the 174 MHz to 2 GHz band. Test signals are available at IF, I/Q and RF interfaces, with the option to introduce programmable fading and attenuation in the signal path.
DVB-T & DVB-H signals compliant with EN 300 744 can be generated from live feeds via ASI or SPI interfaces. Additionally pre recorded and highly repeatable I/Q and Transport Stream test files can re replayed from internal hard disk, Compact Flash and USB 2.0 memory options.
When connected to a host PC via its USB2.0 interface Modus 3 emulates a hard drive for simple test file management and includes a remote control graphical user Interface option with defined API.

DVB-H Composer
DVB-H Composer is a software application which creates DVB-H transport streams. It can take
multiple H.264 and AAC files and produce a transport stream containing DVB-H audiovisual IP
datacasts (IPDCs). Files can be added as FLUTE data download services. Both IPv4 and Ipv6
IPDC is supported. MPE PIDs can be time-sliced and protected with MPE-FEC. Composer
configurations can be saved to disk and then opened and edited using a simple, easy to use
graphical user interface (GUI) with on-line help. The output includes Modus 3 parameters,
enabling the transport stream to be played out directly with Modus 3 without any extra
configuration necessary.
Features include:
- Easy to use graphical user interface with on-line help
- H.264/RTP IPDC
- AAC/RTP streaming
- FLUTE file carouseling
- Multiple MPEG-2 Transport stream File output
- Multiple IP datacasts within a single transport stream
- IPv4 and IPv6 support

INFRASTRUCTURE
The transition to digital terrestrial and mobile TV has generated the need for new flexible cost effective infrastructure which can be deployed quickly, is rugged and easy to maintain.
CellMetric has met this challenge with a range of intelligent, state of the art building blocks which plug together to form multi channel repeaters and micro base stations.
Built around a core software defined radio architecture, our patented systems provide transmodulation between RF or IP feeds to COFDM modulated RF outputs.
All our systems are designed to be waterproof, convection cooled and highly modular.
- Easy to install
- Easy to operate
- Easy to maintain
CM3 Repeater DVB-T
The CellMetric CM3 digital broadcast repeater is designed to provide cost effective, simple digital switchover.
Highly reliable, intelligent, modular, and rugged, the design allows broadcasters to deploy a "plug and play" mixture of on channel repeaters, digital transposers and regenerative demod remod channels.

Radius 4 DVB-H Micro Base Station
DVB-H video transmission to mobile phones requires a macro cellular architecture of low power transmission bases.
The CellMetric Radius 4 DVB-H mobile base station provides a trials solution for low power stand alone base stations. Inputs include
- ASI transport stream interfaces
- Hard Disk for pre recoded transport streams
Future options include
- Ethernet packetised IP interface
- RF Interfaces for DVB-T or DVB-S feeds
Output is 1Watt in the VHF/UHF band.
The Radius 4 DVB-H base station is rugged, waterproof and convection cooled and only requires a mains power supply to get a DVB-H transmission up and running.
